Think you can’t afford a great vacation? Look in your own backyard! Some of the coolest destinations can be within an hour or two of where you live.
So you want to go on a trip, but you don’t think you have the time, or worst, you believe there’s no place interesting for you to travel to with the time you do have... Well we have a solution for that! By using the "1,3,6 Travel Rule", not only will you find time to travel, but you'll discover travel destinations you've never thought of!
The “1, 3, 6 Travel Rule” can help you pick a location and figure out the minimal amount of time you’ll need to enjoy your destination. The 1, 3 and 6 stand for the number of hours you’ll need to get to your destination. So for a one hour trip, allot at least 1/2 a day to that location. Traveling 3 hours? You’ll likely need the whole day. And if you’re adventure takes 6 hours, make that a weekend trip — you’ve earned it. We’re based in D.C., so a 1-hour road trip for us would be #Baltimore or #Annapolis, giving us enough time to explore (on a very basic level) either of the cities in half a day. A few weeks ago, we toured the #whitehouse, which is about 20 minutes away from us, so we set aside half a day for that adventure. While you could easily spend more time in all of these locations, the “1, 3, 6 Travel Rule” will help give you a foundation for planning for next adventure.
